France has always been home to some of the best ski destinations in the world, and that reputation is yet to falter. With something for everyone, from groups of young people to more mature couples and even solo skiers, France is the place to go.
The skiing season really only gets underway in the New Year, so why not soften the blow of a long, cold winter in the office with a ski break to France?
There are plenty of all inclusive ski holidays to France, where you can enjoy a superb family holiday. Skiing offers the flexibility to make sure you get the most from your time away, while the facilities on the mountainside and the comfort of the hotels and chalets in your resort will make for some wonderful family too.
So, where are the best family destinations for skiing in France? Here are a few of our favourites.
For young kids
If you are planning to travel with very young children (under ten) then the best place to go for your family skiing holiday is Les Gets, not to mention that your cheap flights to France may also allow them to fly for free!
Known for its child-friendly atmosphere, with a special nanny service incorporated into your travel deal, Les Gets is the perfect place to take your young ones.
Similarly, the smaller slope at this resort makes it perfect for teaching your children to ski for the first time.
If you have slightly older children who are interested in really learning the ropes on the slopes, consider resorts such as Val D’Isere or Chamonix. Both offer a wide range of slopes for all levels, making it perfect for families.
Val D’Isere is known for accommodating thousands of Brits each year, making it the go-to place for British families.
For a slightly more original feel, perhaps try Les Arcs. It’s especially good for accomplished skiers.
Late teens/early 20s
If your family is comprised of children aged 16 and over, you will probably want to make sure there is entertainment off the slopes to match the skiing on them.
Resorts such as Les Deux Alpes offer plenty of options with regards to clubs and bars, making it the perfect place for keeping your older kids entertained and occupied. Meanwhile, there are great bars and restaurants to keep Mum and Dad happy too.
Whatever their ages, both you and your children are bound to have a fun-packed family holiday experience if you choose France for your skiing trip this year. With plenty of resorts to choose from, and with train and plane services taking you to the heart of skiing country, it really is the perfect place to ski.
