Renting a House in the South of France

An uncorked bottle of wine sits on a round wooden table next to two empty glasses. The sound of splashing from the pool in front of the house can be heard in the distance. This dream can all too easily become a reality. The South of France is not only close, but it is also more affordable than you might think, especially if you are travelling off-season

The best way to do it is renting a nice family home. An old family farm for instance, which has been tastefully converted. You might even choose self-catering so you can be assured that the costs can be kept that little bit lower, or maybe that can be the excuse for trading it up and having your own private swimming pool.

Although a swim in the Mediterranean is probably a bit too cold for this time of year, the beautiful beaches are perfect for wandering on. Once the children have run off their energy you can visit a local restaurant and take a leisurely two or maybe even three-hour lunch. Life here happens in the slow lane, especially if you have chosen to rent a place in the countryside.

Good food, great wine, nice company and a cool temperature. If it all comes together at a great price, well that is what the perfect holiday is made of. You might even get a bit of a tan out of it if you’re lucky.
