Cycling is a great way to explore somewhere new and cycling in Florida is no different. There are lots of biking trails suitable for cyclists of all abilities. The Santos Trail in Marion County starts off passing boarded fences surrounding smart horse farms and then goes on to forest tracks. These are graded depending on difficulty, with some challenging tracks for those who enjoy dipping and diving over rough terrain. Another excellent bike trail starts at Lake Minneola and joins up with the West Orange Trail. Bikes can be hired here and water sports such as waterskiing and windsurfing take place on the lake.

Florida is an ideal location for the golf enthusiast, with over 1000 golf courses. The mild climate makes for beautiful courses which are open all year round.

Water Sports

The coast off Florida Keys has the only living coral reef barrier in the United States. Snorkeling or scuba diving is a great way to watch loggerhead turtles, dolphins and spectacular coloured fish. There are also a number of ship wrecks beneath the waters which can be explored. Surfing is especially popular at Cocoa Beach on the east coast of Florida. There are various companies offering surfing lessons in this smart town.
