5 Fun things you must do in Orlando

  1.  Visit the beaches

Sun, sea and sand probably aren’t on your first list of things to do in Orlando but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make it one. Situated just 45 minutes outside Orlando, you’ll find the east coast beaches and just an hour and 30 minutes away you’ll discover the west coast beaches. The term “world class” gets thrown around a lot in the travel world, but when it comes to these beaches – it’s completely accurate.

  1. See the first class entertainment

Orlando is an entertainment hub. It’s famous all over the world as a primary entertainment destination and as it’s home to well-known clubs like Hard Rock Café and House of Blues. You’ll find music wherever you go. Stand up comedy, art, theatre and dance are just a few of the entertainment offerings available pretty much everywhere in Orlando.

  1. See Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando

Lake Eola has developed into a place of gathering for everyone. Young or old, visitor or local – this place is beautiful and you’ll find a magnificent view of the Orlando skyline here. Grab a bite to eat; sit, snack and relax.  If you’re not keen on relaxing, enjoy one of the popular swan boat rides. The weekend events see farmer markets that offer unique foods and products creating a real buzz around the area.

  1. Go to a water park

It’s obligatory. Water parks in Orlando are not just for kids. The heat in Florida makes it a no brainer – cooling off and having fun is a must. Slides, lazy rivers, wave pools and even some extreme waterslides at 76 foot (23 meters) make family days out amazing and if the heat has made you a little crazy, no better place to take the plunge than one of the many popular water parks in Orlando.  Some of the most popular are Wet N’ Wild, Aquatica, Blizzard Beach at Walt Disney World and the Coco Key Hotel & Water Resort.

  1. Visit a theme park

Much like the water parks – theme parks in Orlando are an absolute must. Orlando is known for famous theme parks and central Florida has more theme parks than any other area in the world. Of course, the most famous parks include Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Epcot, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, and SeaWorld with its famous killer whale, Shamu.
